NOTICE The cost of the luncheons for MOAA and for MOWC have gone up one dollar each. The MOAA luncheon will cost $15 and MOWC will cost $13.00. OCTOBER MENU: Pork chop, Braised Red Cabbage, German Potato Salad, German Chocolate Cake, salad, rolls, coffee and tea.
MOAA National's "Give Me
Ten" membership campaign is continuing throughout 2008.
What's new is that free membership is offered in both MOAA National and
in the Tampa Chapter for all active duty military personnel. You may
fill in an application on this web and then either print it out and
snail mail or e-mail it. If you have a question, please contact the membership

Chapter dues are only $20 per year but on July1st of each year the dues for the Tampa Chapter are pro rated to $10 for the rest of the year. Therefore, when recruiting new members this should be made clear to the applicant and remind them that in January 2009 they will owe the full $20 for the year.
COSGROVE WINNER OF MOAA/MOWC SCHOLARSHIP
A College Scholarship is offered to relatives of members of MOAA. The MOAA and MOWC donate $1000 each and seek 2 applicants. Last year and this year we only had one student apply. This year’s recipient is Adam Cosgrove, son of Lt Col/USAF Brandt and Amy Cosgrove.
A 4th year band member, Adam earned the distinction of Master Musician his sophomore year. He has performed with numerous prestigious orchestras including the National Wind Ensemble, Carnegie Hall, New York City; Bands of America, featured soloist; The Florida State University College of Music Tri-State Band Festival; 34th Annual Southeastern United States Concert Band Clinis and Honor Bands; USF Festival of Winds Opus 32 & 33; LSU Honor Chamber Winds Camp; All County 06-08; South Florida Honor Band Festival; University of Tampa Quad-Couty Honor Band. Adam is a member of the Tampa Bay Youth Orchestra.
Adam also performed with and was instructed by prominent percussion personalities such as Ney Rosauro, renowned conductor and composer from Brazil; MSgt Christopher Martin, United States Air Force Ceremonial Brass Band; and MSgt Donald Spinelli, United States Marine Corps President's Own Marine Corps Band.
Adam's music performance accolades include 8 Superior Ratings at District Solo and Ensemble from 2005-2008 and 7 Superiors at State Solo and ensemble during 2006-2008.
Adam is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and plans to pursue a career in music performance. He will begin his studies this summer at Florida State University where he has been accepted into their school of music program which is ranked third in the nation.
